Episode TWO : Perceptual vs. Conceptual!

What's the difference between Perceptual & Conceptual?

To be honest, I am still trying to understand it in depth. So I only have a slight idea of what is what. Still learning about how to differentiate them, poking my friend, Ikki, with a thousand of questions and bugging my other friend of mine which you all
are very familiar with, Google, for answers.

So I am gonna start with my first example of conceptual..
This is an artwork by Salvador Dali.
"Birth of The New Man".

This plays with the mind.
To me, this picture has it hidden story or meaning to it which triggers your mind to think about what the artist is trying to say to you.

"Tame Version" of an AIDS awareness poster by James Jean.

Next will be perceptual art..

This is one of "The skull illusion" by Tom French.

This plays with the eyes.
If you look closely at this picture you will see you ladies looking at each other. The one on the left looks pretty scary though. At first I thought it was a picture of a couple but then again I looked closely and saw the one on the left wearing a singlet. Take a step back and you'll see a skull.

This is "Retrato del Delito" by Santiago Caruso.

Does the lines look sloped to you?

Do you see John Lenon?

Go ahead.. count the black dots!
